All drama lessons are taught by experienced, professional and well-qualified teaching staff, based on either half hourly or hourly lessons and are tailor-made to suit individual requirements.
Students may follow a general Speech and Drama lesson based study whereby they work through various graded examination courses, alternating between Acting, Verse and Prose and Public Speaking. A well-grounded student will learn to build skills in all these areas. Others may choose their own particular preference in their course of study and focus on Acting, for example.
Many students enjoy working towards an academic award as this provides them with a sense of achievement. The Lamda qualifications are carefully graded and develop excellent communication skills in a range of subjects whilst providing UCAS points from Level 3. This provides added value in the qualification based environment in which we now live. Examination preparation is not however mandatory and lessons are arranged based upon the requirements of each and every individual.
As an experienced and knowledgeable teacher, having had over 35 years of teaching and professional acting experience, my students achieve excellent results in examination and competitive festival work. All students gain high Merits or Distinctions in their examination results, winning many first place trophies in competitive work and have successfully gained places in the National Youth Theatre and at accredited Drama Schools. At Dramatic Arts Studio we pride ourselves on a 100% pass rate: 98% of which are Distinction.
