Kim Gilbert, BA(Hons), GSA (Prof. Dip), LGSM(Hons), LLAM(Hons), LALAM(Hons), Dip ELS, Cert.Ed.
Kim studied as a professional actress at the Guildford School of Acting and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has been acting, teaching and directing plays and musical productions for more than 35 years. She has experience in a wide range of Theatre, TV and Voiceover work. She has a First Class Honours degree in English and Psychology and has taught English and Drama in many top schools in the country, both privately and at GCSE and A Level. She previously worked for many years as Head of Drama at The Royal High School, Bath. She has taught Speech & Drama at both Red Maids School and Badminton School, Bristol for over 15 years and set up Dramatic Arts Studio when she moved to her home in central Chippenham 13 years ago. Building of the studio space began 10 years ago and she is now the proud owner of a beautiful space from which to teach. Kim is a fully qualified and experienced LAMDA teacher, preparing and examining students in all aspects of communication from Acting, Verse & Prose, Musical Theatre and Public Speaking. Kim has been an Examiner for AQA and for Lamda for 8 years and has a 100% examination success rate with over 95% of students gaining Distinction at all levels and age ranges. Kim is Chairman of the Bristol Festival of Music & Drama and enjoys preparing students for this event as well as for the Mid-Somerset Festival in Bath, Devizes Eisteddfod and the Wootton Bassett Arts Festival. Kim is also a member of the STSD (Society of Teachers of Speech & Drama), a professional Equity member and a registered adjudicator with BIFF (British & International Federation of Festivals). She is CRB Checked.
